Job summary

A leading financial services firm in Singapore is seeking a Finance Department leader to report directly to the CEO. The candidate will oversee financial planning, operations, and reporting, while maintaining relationships with investors. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in finance or related fields, CPA qualification preferred, and at least 10 years of senior finance experience. Strong leadership and communication skills, along with proficiency in Mandarin, are advantageous.

Job description

The candidate will lead the Finance Department and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

(a) Financial Planning
  • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
  • Develop financial and tax strategies
  • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
(b) Financial Operations
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
  • Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
  • Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
(c) Financial Information and Reporting
  • Oversee the issuance of financial information and reports
  • Report financial results to the board of directors and shareholders
(d) Funding and Investments
  • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
  • Arrange for debt and equity financing
  • Investment of funds
(e) Investors and Third Parties Relations
  • Participate in conference calls with the investment community
  • Maintain banking relationships
  • Represent the company with investment bankers and investors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • CPA qualifications are on added advantage
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in a senior finance leadership role of a financial services firm
  • Strong foundation in finance and in-depth understanding of internal controls, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and accounting standards
  • Good commercial and business acumen
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Mandarin advantageous to be able to liaise effectively with native Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and to understand Chinese documents
