ARYAA TRADING PTE. LTD. is looking for a skilled cook specializing in Indian cuisine to prepare both South and North Indian dishes. Responsibilities include supervising kitchen activities, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with inventory management. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of vegetarian cooking techniques and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Works under the supervision of the company director & restaurant manager.
- Cook both South Indian and North Indian food.
- Supervise all kitchen activities and handle ad hoc jobs as per the Head Chef's instructions.
- Perform inventory and supply ordering duties, and assist in kitchen preparation to facilitate cooking by the Head Chef.
- Conduct preparation duties such as mixing, chopping, grinding batter, and basic cooking skills like tossing, frying, and steaming.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions of kitchen appliances, equipment, food storage areas, and the kitchen environment.
- Purchase, verify the quality and quantity of food and kitchen supplies required for daily activities and events.
- Estimate the amount and type of food to purchase, considering the event and guest count.
- Plan, budget, and maintain inventory.
- Have knowledge of Indian vegetarian cooking and ingredients, including dishes like Dosa, Idli, Vada, Biryani, Naan, curry, and be able to prepare Prata and dough.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during busy periods.
- Must be a team player and willing to assist in the kitchen when colleagues are unwell or unavailable.
- Responsible for keeping all live cooking areas clean and tidy.
