Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Chemistry with at least 1 year experience in materials testing.
  • Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of testing equipment advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of cement, soil, aggregates, concrete, and polymer samples.
  • Operation of analytical instruments like UV-visible spectrophotometers and FTIR.
  • Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements.

Job description

Element has an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician for sample preparation & testing. He/ She also needs to assist Chemist in laboratory testing and on-site sampling (if required).

Location: Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore.

Job Duties:

  • Analysis of cement, soil, aggregates, concrete and polymer samples as per standard method
  • Operation of analytical instruments like UV-visible spectrophotometers, FTIR, auto titrator
  • Prepare the reagents, standard solution and ensure standardisation of the solution used in the laboratory
  • Handling and storage all chemicals as per the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
  • Issue reports and receive samples to and from the respective entities
  • Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
  • Willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager to assist in the execution of Element Material Technology annual targets and budget

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Chemistry with at least 1 year experience in materials testing
  • Have the ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working hours if required or necessary
  • Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Team player with initiatives with good communication skills and dedicated in responsibilities
  • Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operation is advantageous
