A leading cleaning solutions provider in Singapore is seeking a Product Development Specialist to develop, test, and optimize formulations for cleaners and MRO chemicals. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry and robust problem-solving skills are essential. This is an opportunity to contribute to sustainable product development in a collaborative environment.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and optimize formulations for cleaners and MRO
chemicals.
- Conduct lab-scale experiments and scale formulations to pilot and
production levels
- Select appropriate raw materials based on performance, cost,
compatibility, and regulatory criteria.
- Perform and document product stability/shelf-life, performance,
compatibility, and safety testing.
- Collaborate with QC, Regulatory, Production, Sales and Marketing
teams.
- Prepare sample for customer evaluation trials, keep track of all
related info for future reference and follow-up on evaluation
outcome.
- Ensure compliance with GHS, REACH, EPA, OSHA, and other industry
standards in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Dubai and other Asia
regions.
- Maintain detailed formulation and development records,
specifications, and SOPs.
- Support product troubleshooting, reformulation, and customer-
specific custom blends
- Document and report research findings and setting up product
specifications.
- To support product failure investigations, arise from the production
batch or customer complaints.
- Ensure maintenance of good housekeeping in workplaces & comply
with safety and health regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related
field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development within
the hygiene and cleaning industry as well as maintenance, repair,
overhaul industries.
- Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry and raw materials.
- Experience with sustainable and eco-friendly product development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
