Job description

  • Working Location: Jurong Island (Transport from Jurong East MRT)
  • Basic Salary:$4000 - $5500

The Chemist is responsible for setup of QC Laboratory at new site, including management and training of Laboratory analyst, Laboratory system establishment and management to achieve safe and stable commissioning and startup of the new plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret complex laboratory results and address quality-related issues.
  • Review process and final product test results for validity and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of QC specifications and standards.
  • Establish and maintain laboratory systems to comply with HSEQ requirements.
  • Conduct method development, validation, and upkeep SOPs, calibration, and analytical procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and analysis issues, collaborating with vendors as needed.
  • Implement calibration plans to ensure data accuracy and repeatability.
  • Manage audits and compliance with certification standards.
  • Lead special projects, including lab setup, new grade trials, and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Train personnel on new instruments and procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure proper test method execution.
  • Manage procurement processes and liaise with suppliers.
  • Monitor daily lab analysis for accuracy and address issues proactively.

Our Requirements

  • A bachelors degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an analytical lab within a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in new laboratory setup and system establishment.
  • Proficiency with equipment such as GC, ICP, GC-MS, Antek, KF, IR, UV, Extruder, DSC, etc.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and statistical quality control.
  • Preferred experience in polymer testing and analytical techniques.
  • Extended knowledge of computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, NWA).
  • Preferred experience with SAP and LIMS systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
