Job description

- Perform sample analysis, record results, and validate findings.

- Provide guidelines and documentation on chemical testing procedures.

- Draft and deliver technical reports, test methods, and analysis findings for chemicals and solutions.

- Educate and guide technicians and personnel-in-charge to ensure proper handling of processes, methods, and SOPs.

- Verify the authenticity and accuracy of laboratory reports and findings, endorse Analysis Certificates when required.

- Prepare, evaluate, maintain, and update procedures; communicate revisions to relevant staff.

- Collaborate with safety personnel to implement safety compliance, report unsafe acts, and propose corrective measures.

- Manage laboratory apparatus, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration in line with standards.

- Oversee and update quality assurance and control programs.

- Evaluate chemical data and provide professional recommendations.

- Supervise and ensure accurate preparation and standardization of reagents.

- Maintain inventory of consumables, reagents, glassware, and apparatus, replenishing as needed.

- Train and ensure competency of new staff members.

- Support analysis during staff absence and perform exigent testing as needed.

- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and client requirements.

- Train and supervise staff, providing guidance and resources.

- Monitor performance, provide feedback, coaching, and mentorship.

- Oversee testing procedures, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

- Check and document test results accurately and thoroughly.

- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and safety standards are maintained.

- Calibrate and troubleshoot analytical equipment.

- Perform routine sample analysis, validate results, handle audits, and write CAPA reports.

- Update test methods and work instructions as necessary.

- Highlight unusual results for further investigation.

- Interpret standards according to operating manuals.

- Assist in method development, PT testing, and task execution.

- Conduct internal audits, QC checks, equipment maintenance, and calibration.

- Issue reports, manage purchasing and inventory, and review SOPs.

- Ensure calibration schedules are followed for all equipment.

- Meet SAC-SINGLAS requirements for environment chemistry testing.

- Oversee all testing activities in respective laboratories.

- Review and sign laboratory reports.

- Prepare general laboratory supplies, maintain cleanliness, and support housekeeping.

- Lead by example, promoting EHS, integrity, compliance, and ethics.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager.

Qualifications:

- Experience in the Petro-Chemical Industry preferred.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Sciences.

- Good communication skills in English, including report writing and permit to work.

- Willingness to work outdoors and in confined spaces in petrochemical settings.

- Preferably 2+ years of relevant experience.

- Ability to work shifts and overtime as needed.

- Strong safety mindset, responsibility, discipline, and positive attitude.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
