Job summary

A leading company in the chemical industry is seeking a Process Technician to execute maintenance, start-up, and shutdown operations. This position requires a NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology and offers opportunities for individuals with entry-level experience. As a Process Technician, you will support the optimization of operations and ensure quality during production processes.

• Entry level or few years of experience as Process Technician in chemical industry.
• Ability to work on 12 hours rotating shifts.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Perform minor maintenance such as strainer cleaning, filter/ screen change, coolant/ lubricants top up and hose connection etc.

• Perform checks, start-up and shutdown operations on process equipment such as pumps and compressors as per Standard Operating Procedures or Work Instructions.

• Isolating piping systems for plant start-up, shutdowns, product grade change and troubleshooting operations.

• Adjusting process parameters to optimize process operations under supervision of Supervisors.

• Collect process samples from assigned sampling points in a safe manner.

• Able to work in a laboratory environment performing in process sample testing to ensure product quality.

• Commissioning and de-commissioning of process equipment.

• Performing emergency shutdown of process equipment

• Proper handing and blending of non-conforming and off specs products.

• Prepare plant equipment for maintenance and ensure all required Lockout, Tagout and Tryout has been performed.

• Preparing chemicals, including mixing and dilution, for process operations.

• Performing inter-tank transfers of chemicals and products based on established quality procedures.

• Performing emergency response activities and drills.

• Maintain acceptable housekeeping in assigned areas.

• Review of final product and process analytical results, and DCS conditions/trends

Requirements:

• NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology

• Entry Level or few years of working experience as Process Technician in a chemical industry

• Able to work on 12 hours rotating shifts
