Hiring: Chef (Local & Western Cuisine)
Salary Range: $2,600 – $5,000
Responsibilities:
- Prepare food & handle mise-en-place.
- Cook and ensure dishes are served as per requirements.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene & safety.
- Oversee kitchen’s daily operations & liaise with suppliers for food orders.
- Innovate & create new dishes and menus.
- Monitor & control stock levels, ensuring correct rotation.
- Estimate costs & ensure purchases stay within budget.
- Handle kitchen accounts & staff rosters.
- Interview & hire new staff.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Culinary or equivalent.
- 6-10 years’ experience in Local (Singapore/Malay/Chinese) and Western cuisines, plus exposure to Indian, Mexican, or Arabic kitchens is a strong plus.
- Proven track record as a Chef in similar capacity.
- Impeccable service standards, clean work habits, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy kitchen, maintain calm under pressure, and keep a sense of humor.
- Flexible to work 5-6 days a week, 8-11 hours per day, based on roster.
- Must be an all-rounder, hands-on & passionate about food.
