A leading cafe in Singapore is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie (CDP) or Demi Chef to join their kitchen team. The role includes preparing Western cuisine dishes, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen operations, and training junior staff. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a similar role and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute Western cuisine dishes with consistent quality and excellent presentation standards.
  • Ensure mise en place is completed accurately and on time before operating hours.
  • Maintain proper portion control, stock rotation and reduce food wastage.
  • Assist Head Chef to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, food hygiene and safety standards are strictly adhered to safety protocol (e.g., HACCP).
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff.
  • Assist head chef on new menu items and contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Report any kitchen equipment maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years proven experience as a CDP or Demi Chef in Western cuisine (e.g., bistro, steakhouse, Italian, modern European).
  • Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Possess a valid food hygiene certificate.
