Job description

Chef (Chinese/Western Cuisine)

Salary: $3000 – $3500

Location: Island Wide

Working Hours: 12 hours

Job Summary:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese and/or Western dishes according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Ensure food quality, freshness, taste and presentation meet company standards
  • Manage kitchen operations including inventory, food cost control, and hygiene compliance
  • Supervise kitchen staff, provide training and delegate tasks efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen according to food safety standards
  • Assist in creating and updating menus and daily specials based on seasonal availability and trends
  • Monitor and manage food supplies to minimize wastage and ensure cost efficiency
  • Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service operations
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years Experience as a Chef or Cook in Chinese and/or Western cuisine
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent professional certification is required
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage a team under pressure
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Flexible to work on weekends, public holidays and shifts
  • Passionate about cooking and innovation in the culinary field
