A leading company in the maritime sector is looking for a Chartering Specialist to manage chartering operations and optimize shipping solutions. The role requires strong negotiation skills and background in maritime disciplines, preferably with prior sailing experience on bulk carriers. This position contributes significantly to the company's P&L through strategic decision-making and effective market analysis.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in similar capacity.
• Experience in operations & chartering preferred.
• Prior sailing experience on bulk carriers advantageous.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Conduct day-to-day chartering related activities.
• Negotiation of Charter Party terms and requirements
• Source for optimal shipping solution for the cargo, monitor market freight rates movement, provide regular evaluation, and market analysis.
• Procurement of Cargo
• Key contributor for the P&L or the organization
• Secure spot and forward cargoes/COAs/tonnages to cover position

Requirements:

• Degree in Maritime / related Discipline
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a similar capacity role
• Good experience in both operations & chartering will be preferred
• Prior sailing experience on bulk carriers will be advantageous
• Experience in bulk carriers (Handysize, Supramax)
• Able to calculate and evaluate voyage estimation
