Job Description

The Center Manager position is essential for strengthening BLOCK71 Indonesia's strategic position within the broader BLOCK71 ASEAN network and NUS Enterprise ecosystem. As a vital node in Indonesia's entrepreneurial landscape, this role will drive both operational excellence and strategic initiatives to enhance BLOCK71 Indonesia's impact and influence.

The position will be instrumental in:

  1. Deepening BLOCK71 Indonesia's integration with the local startup ecosystem.
  2. Executing strategic initiatives aligned with NUS Enterprise's regional objectives.
  3. Ensuring operational efficiency and program effectiveness.
  4. Building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
  5. Advancing BLOCK71's mission of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Indonesia.

This leadership role is critical for maximizing BLOCK71 Indonesia's potential as a cornerstone of both the Indonesian startup ecosystem and the broader BLOCK71 ASEAN network. Through effective management and strategic direction, the Center Manager will strengthen BLOCK71's position as a catalyst for entrepreneurial growth and innovation in the region.

The Centre Lead will be responsible for overall coordination of BLOCK71 programmes in Indonesian Centres with NUS and other BLOCK71 locations. The Manager will work alongside the existing incubation teams in Indonesia (Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta, Singapore and other Block71 Centres) and be primarily responsible for:

  1. Providing oversight of BLOCK71 programmes in the assigned locations.
  2. Incubation related:
    1. Helping market and establish BLOCK71 incubation and related programmes in assigned locations.
    2. Assessing suitability of startups for BLOCK71 Incubation programme.
    3. Onboarding startups into the incubation programme.
    4. Account managing startups within the incubation programme.
    5. Managing incubation & other support programmes for the startups.
  3. Ecosystem development related:
    1. Establishing active engagement and partnerships with local universities, government agencies, corporates, investors, and other partners.
    2. Engaging the communities by creating a robust content calendar for our social media and email channels including coming up with innovative content, writing posts and scheduling content.
    3. Curate and cultivate participation among our internal and external communities and increase engagement and followership across the BLOCK71 brands.
    4. Organize & support BLOCK71 signature events.
    5. Host visits from both foreign and local delegations.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia to manage Indonesian stakeholders.
  • Able to understand and evaluate technologies, products and business ideas.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passionate about entrepreneurship & innovation.
  • Interest in portfolio management (startup investments), prior experience would be an advantage.
  • Familiar with Jakarta startup scene.
  • Strong outgoing personality.
