The Deputy Director for Industry Engagement (IE) and Centre Director for Business Innovation Centre (BIC) within the School of Business (SB) is tasked with leading an Industry Engagement team across HR, Sustainability, Digitalisation, Automation, Consumer Insights, and other emerging business domains.
This role supports workforce transformation across key sectors, aligns module and programme content with industry needs, and manages industry partnerships to advance SP CWT and SB IE initiatives. Additionally, the position involves managing staff to foster accountability, trust, and collaboration within the school and with external stakeholders. It includes developing staff capability through growth opportunities and strategic talent deployment, seeking industry-relevant learning opportunities for PET and CET programmes, cultivating an innovative culture within SB, and ensuring alignment with SP and SB IE initiatives.
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:
- To lead, strategise and prioritise key initiatives for IE and BIC, and ensure division staff understand and are aligned with initiatives.
- To lead and jointly set strategic direction and manage the division to spearhead expertise in HR, Sustainability, Digitalisation, Business Automation, Consumer Insights and other emerging business areas.
- To lead division to align module and programme contents with industry needs, and pedagogy innovation.
- Build accountability mindset and develop staff capability by creating appropriate growth opportunities
- To provide effective leadership, planning and management of team to align with SB and DEV industry engagement initiatives with professional bodies, trade associations, ministries and key strategic partners.
[What we are looking for]
Requirements:
- More than 8 years of relevant working experience.
- Possess industry expertise and sector-specific (HR and Business) knowledge.
- Demonstrates strategic leadership and innovative thinking.
- Proven ability in partnership building and staff development.
- A strong team player with good communication skills
- Strong passion in mentoring students and show genuine concern for them
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
