The SME Centre @ SICCI (SMEC@SICCI) is a high-impact initiative supported by Enterprise Singapore, created to empower Singapore’s SMEs to grow, transform, and compete effectively in a rapidly evolving economy.

We are looking for a visionary Centre Director to lead the strategic direction and operational execution of the SME Centre. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will drive business advisory excellence, spearhead capability-building programmes, and enable SMEs to access government support and grants while building strong partnerships across government, industry, and the business community.

The Centre Director reports to the SMEC@SICCI Board, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to Enterprise Singapore and SICCI’s Chairman.

The Mandate

As Centre Director, you will be entrusted with end-to-end leadership of the Centre, including strategic direction, governance, and performance delivery. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of advisors and work closely with senior public and private-sector stakeholders to shape programmes, outreach, and advisory outcomes for SMEs.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership & Influence
  • Define and execute the Centre’s multi-year strategic roadmap aligned with national SME development priorities.
  • Serve as the principal interface with senior stakeholders across government, industry bodies, financial institutions, and the business community.
  • Represent the Centre at high-level forums, dialogues, and closed-door engagements.
  • Act as a trusted voice in advancing SME capability development and ecosystem collaboration.
Programme Direction & Advisory Oversight
  • Provide executive oversight of business advisory services including grants facilitation, digital transformation, internationalization, and productivity initiatives.
  • Steer the design of targeted programmes, workshops, and strategic partnerships that deliver measurable SME outcomes.
  • Engage industry groups to surface sector-specific challenges and co-develop scalable solutions.
Governance, Performance & Leadership
  • Assume accountability for budget management, KPIs, audits, and grant compliance in line with governance frameworks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior advisors and support staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Drive outreach strategies to extend the Centre’s reach, including engagement with underserved SME segments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree qualification, preferably in Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in SME consulting, economic development, trade associations, or government-linked entities.
  • You will be required to liaise with diverse community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant India languages / dialects is required to effectively engage stakeholders.
  • Well-established network across policy, finance, and industry.
  • Proven ability to lead complex stakeholder environments and deliver against strategic KPIs.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents only.
