Job description

Centre Executive/Assistant

About SIMC

Mediation has gained prominence as an avenue to resolve disputes amicably – at the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC), we operate at the forefront of that change.

Since 2014, we have gradually established ourselves as a leading international mediation services provider. As a not-for-profit institution, we help individuals and businesses to resolve their disputes, specialising in conflicts that are complex and cross-border in nature. As part of our mission, we routinely conduct education, training and outreach to enhance awareness and knowledge of mediation, and its application to varied contexts.

While we are a relatively small team, we punch above our weight to promote and propagate the benefits of mediation. The watershed Singapore Convention on Mediation, which entered into force in September 2020, has given our mission a further boost. With the Covid-19 pandemic, more businesses are looking to mediation as the first port-of-call in the event of disputes.

With the support of our stakeholders, including an extensive global network of mediators and partners, SIMC has grown significantly in the past few years. We strive to go further. If you believe that even the most intractable disputes can be resolved without acrimony, join us to help shape the change.

The Role

Due to rapid expansion, we are looking for a Centre Executive/Assistant who will engage in the following functions (non-exhaustive):

1. Support SIMC’s Registry to manage the Centre’s mediation services.

2. Support training, marketing and client engagement services to promote international mediation in Asia and beyond.

Requirements:

· Willing to work overtime as required to meet project deadlines and business needs

· Candidates with experience in the hospitality or service industry are welcome

· Responsible working adult with a commitment to professionalism and reliability

· Strong interest in international mediation and broader dispute resolution

· Team player with a strong customer service mindset
