A leading company in aerospace maintenance is seeking a Cell Leader for their MRO division. This pivotal role involves leading a team, ensuring high-quality maintenance operations, and promoting safety and efficiency. Candidates should have a background in aerospace or mechanical engineering, along with substantial MRO experience and leadership capabilities.
Job Title: Cell Leader – Aerospace MRO
Department: Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO)
Reports to: Production Supervisor / Operations Manager
The Cell Leader plays a key role in the daily operations of the aerospace MRO division by leading a team of technicians and coordinating workflow to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components or systems. The role focuses on driving performance, safety, and continuous improvement within the cell.
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians and operators within the MRO cell.
Allocate daily work assignments and ensure adherence to production schedules.
Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and escalate disciplinary matters when necessary.
Production & Operations:
Oversee and ensure proper execution of maintenance and repair activities according to OEM standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA, FAA, CAAS), and company SOPs.
Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and on time with minimal rework.
Support root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for any non-conformities.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure documentation and traceability of all maintenance activities.
Collaborate with QA/QC to maintain regulatory compliance and pass audits or inspections.
Drive 5S, workplace safety, and adherence to environmental and quality standards.
Resource Management:
Ensure availability of tools, equipment, and materials for uninterrupted operations.
Coordinate with planning, engineering, and logistics to minimize downtime and delays.
Track and report KPIs such as productivity, TAT (turnaround time), and defect rates.
Continuous Improvement:
Promote Lean principles and support Kaizen initiatives within the cell.
Identify areas for process improvement and waste reduction.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and team collaboration.
Diploma or Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in an MRO or aerospace manufacturing environment, with prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems or components (e.g., engines, avionics, landing gear, etc.).
Good understanding of aviation regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, CAAS).
Experience with Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
