CDN and Security Engineer | Akamai & Cloudflare Specialist

Summary:

Experienced CDN and Web Security Engineer with strong expertise in Akamai and Cloudflare configuration, management, and deployment. Skilled in setting up secure, high-performance content delivery networks, implementing advanced security measures, and automating operational processes.

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

CDN Configuration & Optimization:

• Proficient in configuring routing rules, cache behavior, and secure header manipulation for Akamai and Cloudflare CDNs.
• Dual CDN initiative specialist, with hands-on experience managing complex deployments across both Akamai and Cloudflare platforms.
• Advanced metadata rule authoring to fine-tune content delivery and caching strategies.

Security & WAF Management:

• Web Application Firewall (WAF) configuration, including IP/Geo blocking, DDoS mitigation, and custom rule implementation.
• Custom header configurations, origin certificate pinning, and client reputation/bot management setup.
• Experienced in certificate lifecycle management for domains (SSL/TLS).

Monitoring & Reporting:

• Traffic analysis and WAF log/report interpretation to identify trends, mitigate threats, and optimize delivery performance.
• Enhancements related to logging and alert monitoring.

Automation & Scripting:

• Proficient in Python scripting for process automation, log analysis, and configuration tasks.
• Capable of creating CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and testing workflows.

Infrastructure & Deployment:

• Strong understanding of network components (GTM, LTM, MSEG, firewall), with experience in spoof testing and performance validation.
• Deployment experience on Akamai Staging and Production environments, including Cloudflare.

Tools & Platforms:

• DataStream and NetStorage configuration.
• AWS services for cloud-based deployments and integrations.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and Python for both frontend and backend integrations.

Support & Enhancements:

• Active contributor to BAU (Business As Usual) enhancements, production support, and project-based implementations.
