Qualifications

Job description

You will be responsible for managing employer relationships and delivering industry-facing career opportunities within assigned clusters and industry sectors. As a Manager, Industry Talent Partner (ITP) in the Centre for Career Readiness, you will support SIT’s mission to develop industry-ready graduates by building and sustaining employer partnerships, securing quality Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP) opportunities, and supporting early career pathways for SIT students and graduates.

You will manage a defined portfolio of employers, coordinate IWSP opportunities from outreach to posting and approval, and work closely with stakeholders to align employer requirements with programme needs. This role requires strong follow-through, accurate data management, and the ability to provide consistent, professional support to employers and students within established institutional frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
Account and Relationship Management
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned employers within designated clusters and industry sectors, serving as the primary point of contact for employer engagement and IWSP-related matters.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with current and prospective industry partners to support IWSP, full-time employment and early career opportunities for SIT students and graduates.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address employer requests and progress IWSP opportunities within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain accurate employer engagement records, follow-up actions and account updates in CRM and related systems to support timely coordination and portfolio tracking.
Business Development and IWSP Opportunity Development
  • Conduct outreach to prospective employers to introduce SIT, IWSP and graduate hiring opportunities, and generate interest in building talent pipelines with the University.
  • Identify employer manpower needs and screen prospective IWSP and early career opportunities against defined criteria, including role suitability, learning outcomes alignment and employer readiness.
  • Support onboarding of new employers by guiding them through account setup in SIT’s job portal, job posting requirements and required documentation before activation.
  • Provide timely guidance to employers on IWSP processes, timelines, terms of engagement, job posting requirements and documentation, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Work with employers to shape meaningful IWSP roles that are aligned with programme requirements, student capabilities and industry needs.
  • Ensure sufficient IWSP opportunities for students application for assigned degree programmes.
  • Track outreach activity, opportunity pipeline status and employer responses to support follow-through, reporting and prioritisation of business development efforts.
IWSP Delivery and Coordination
  • Coordinate the end-to-end administrative flow for IWSP opportunities within the assigned portfolio, including job description checks, approvals, communications and follow-ups.
  • Check IWSP role information for completeness and alignment to programme requirements prior to faculty validation, and follows up with employers on clarifications where needed
  • Monitor IWSP application and offer progress, prompt stakeholders on pending actions, resolve routine employer and student queries, and elevate cases that deviate from standard processes or timelines.
Career and Industry Events
  • Support planning and execution of employer engagement activities such as career fairs, networking sessions, recruitment talks, industry briefings and sector-focused events.
  • Coordinate employer participation, logistics, communications, briefing materials and post-event follow-ups.
  • Capture employer feedback and event outcomes to support follow-up actions, relationship development and continuous improvement of engagement activities.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure event activities are aligned with employer needs, student readiness and programme priorities.
  • Document event participation, employer feedback, engagement outcomes and follow-up actions to support reporting, relationship development and continuous improvement of future activities.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience in business development, account management, employer engagement, talent acquisition, career services, higher education or related fields.
  • Strong interest in developing talent pipelines and creating meaningful career and work-study opportunities for students and graduates.
  • Good understanding of employer needs, recruitment practices, labour market trends and industry skills requirements; familiarity with PET, CET or work-integrated learning will be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, negotiate constructively and maintain effective relationships with employers and internal partners.
  • Organised, analytical and resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple employer accounts, track action items and deliver outcomes within agreed timelines.
  • Able to apply established policies, templates and service standards, while exercising sound judgement to identify exceptions and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear employer-facing materials, briefing notes, updates and reports.
  • IT savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, job portals, dashboards and other digital tools used for employer engagement, tracking and reporting.
