Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for assigned categories within a structured category management process to achieve financial goals, enhance market share, improve customer satisfaction, and optimize productivity.
  • Drive category sales, profit, and income targets by creating and implementing effective business plans.
  • Curate and manage an optimal product mix that aligns with customer preferences and market demand.
  • Develop and execute trade promotions that generate excitement and drive incremental sales and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster business growth and collaboration.
  • Oversee the sourcing of products globally, ensuring they meet local customer demands.
  • Conduct periodic range reviews to maximize category sales and profitability.
  • Implement a competitive pricing strategy that delivers value to customers while maintaining profitability.
  • Establish and manage retailer-supplier collaborations to optimize income, terms, and discounts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including product inventory management and procurement processes.
  • Work towards reducing shrinkage through disciplined purchasing and inventory control.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a strong and capable team.
  • Lead assigned projects independently, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals.
  • Analyze buying effectiveness (e.g., cost-saving strategies) to enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other stakeholders on key strategic business initiatives.
  • Extract, analyze, and prepare weekly reports for senior management review.
  • Promote a culture of learning, teamwork, and knowledge-sharing across internal and external teams.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects or duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in commercial roles within the FMCG industry, with a solid understanding of the end-to-end buy to-sell process being a strong advantage.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
