A day in the life of a Category Development Manager

  • Lead category & channel thinking of the commercial team, with responsibility in developing and implementing category strategies within channels, with a horizon of 12-36 months.
  • Support marketing in developing category strategies with a horizon of 12-36 months.
  • Develop the point of purchase strategies and standards for each channel category, incorporating the POP Drivers.
  • Own shopper strategies through route to market.
  • Ensure compliance and provide support to all quality-related activities identified in the NQMS Process Descriptions and Support Process Descriptions.
  • Ensure compliance and support all OHS-related activities identified in OHSAS manual Clause 4.4.1.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Category product knowledge within the FMCG industry.
  • 4+ years of commercial experience demonstrated through channel or distributor management roles.
  • Business experience within trade marketing, marketing/sales, or commercial functions, preferably with trade marketing/CCSD experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in business planning and implementation (project management).
  • Financial awareness, including P&L statements and supply chain reports.
