Job summary

Job Summary

You will perform carpentry tasks including reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, building structures, assembling furniture, and conducting repairs. You will also supervise work and adhere to safety guidelines while working shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements accurately
• Measure and calculate material sizes and quantities needed for tasks
• Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials like fiberglass according to measurements
• Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings using raw or pre-constructed materials
• Lay out flooring, roofing, or drywall ensuring they are level and properly aligned
• Carve, assemble, and install furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items at designated locations
• Inspect sites and perform repairs or maintenance to maintain structural integrity
• Construct scaffolding and other temporary construction structures safely
• Perform supervisory duties to oversee work quality and safety compliance
• Operate electrical and manual carpentry tools such as powered saws, hammers, and rulers proficiently
• Follow safety guidelines consistently to maintain a safe work environment
• Work night shifts, Sundays, public holidays, and odd hours as required by customer demands
• Adapt to working in various weather conditions, at heights, and across multiple site locations in Singapore

Required competencies and certifications

• Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Capability to work in construction sites, workshops, or residential settings under varying weather conditions and at heights
• Physical endurance and good condition to perform manual carpentry tasks
• Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a carpenter

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Hands-on experience with carpentry materials and techniques
• Proficient in reading technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of carpentry installation and construction methods
