Job summary

BISWAS CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced carpenter to read blueprints, lay out work, and build structures using hand and power tools on site.

You will measure, cut, and fit wood, drywall, and solid surface materials, install countertops and partitions, and perform minor furniture repairs as needed. Health and safety on-site are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient reading of blueprints/drawings and laying out work to spec.
• Skilled in measuring and cutting wood/drywall to required dimensions.
• Experience using hand and power tools for fabrication, installation and repair.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments, making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, and selecting materials necessary for the work.
• Ensure and deliver an adequate supply of tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete jobs at work sites as required.
• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, and shape wood, drywall, and related materials to specification.
• Use hand and power tools to fabricate, install and repair solid surface materials (countertops, partitions and wall surfaces).
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Ensure adequate supplies of tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete jobs are at work sites as required.
• Repair and perform minor furniture repair.
