Job Description:
- Responsible for assisting in offload/bunkering operations, gauging and sample collection from cargo and Slops tanks, dosing of chemicals in Slops, assisting in ODME operations, pump room duties, supporting Marine Supt on COW and Tank Cleaning operations, Cargo/Slop tank isolation according to Marine Supt instructions, and routine maintenance of marine equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with MODEC procedures, national and international regulations.
- Assist in safe mooring/unmooring operations, cargo hose and bunker hose connections, monitoring offloading cargo and bunkering operations, collecting samples during offload operations as per procedures, safety standards, task risk assessments, and toolbox instructions to ensure safety and compliance.
- Contribute to the unit's annual budget planning by participating in corporate planning, providing information on resources, replacements, services, materials, and other expenses, liaising with the Marine team for accuracy.
- Assist in checking the specification of loaded oil through gauging and sampling of cargo and slop tanks.
- Assist in checking FPSO integrity by monitoring soundings and gas levels inside void spaces.
- Contribute to effective emergency response by participating in training, simulations, and acting appropriately in real situations, following MODEC's procedures, guidelines, and regulations to minimize impacts.
- Assist in reducing H2S levels in slops by dosing Sodium Hypochlorite and Biocide in the Slop tanks as per Cargo Supervisor instructions.
- Participate or lead investigations such as RCAs, NOIs/NODs, HAZID/HAZOPs, and follow up on CAPAs, sharing lessons learned and promoting continuous performance and integrity improvements.
- Ensure employee alignment with company objectives, policies, and procedures by leading and engaging teams, providing guidance, feedback, and clarifying career paths in accordance with MdB's procedures.
- Report all marine or safety incidents or defects to the Cargo Supervisor, take actions to mitigate hazards, request technical advice, and coordinate vendor assistance as needed.
- Support inspection activities of luggage, personnel, and cargo disembarking offshore units, complying with NORMAM 27 regulations regarding dangerous items handling.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Degree required.
- Technical Degree or Petty Officer Engineer (Able Seafarer Engine) required.
- Technician I/II/III/IV: Minimum 2/4/7 years' overall experience expected.
- Minimum 2 years offshore experience on Oil tanker/LPGLNG/VLCC/F(P)SOs, with at least 1 year as Pumpman or Petty Officer Engineer.
