Job description

The Care Staff is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of each client’s condition and care treatments. They contribute actively to the development and periodic review of individual care plans. In addition, they help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of REACH Senior Care Centre by maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment. The Care Staff also upholds the Centre’s house rules, ensuring clients adhere to them, and recommends appropriate measures to mitigate risks and safeguard the well-being of all elders.

Roles and Duties

  • Conduct daily visual health/well-being checks and monitor for behavioural changes (e.g., mood, cognitive decline).
  • Assist seniors with basic activities of daily living: personal hygiene, transfers (wheelchair/bed), and mobility support.
  • Lead daily social, recreational, and therapeutic activities tailored to seniors’ abilities (e.g., dementia-friendly adaptations).
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and infection control: daily cleaning, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, and PPE compliance.
  • Document client progress, and daily observations for care team review, update and follow care plan.
  • Administer first aid/CPR during medical emergencies (if certified).
  • Support junior staff/volunteers on care techniques, dementia management, and client transfer protocols.
  • Attend training sessions to stay updated on elderly care standards (e.g., MOH guidelines).

Requirements

  • Minimum Secondary School certification
  • Conversant in English and any 2nd language with ability to converse in local dialect would be an advantage for elderly clients
  • Caring, patient, and willing in serving elderly clients
  • Prior experience with caregiving duties in Hospitals, Nursing Homes or with individual’s parents would be advantageous
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Team player with great interpersonal communication and organisational skills
  • Responsible and capable of working independently and under time constraints
