A leading eldercare service provider in Singapore seeks a Nursing Leader to oversee daily operations and care standards for seniors. The ideal candidate will possess a nursing diploma and a valid SNB (RN) License, with at least 5 years of experience in eldercare. You will manage nursing assessments, provide staff training, and ensure compliance with health regulations. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Role description:
In charge of organising daily nursing, developing and meeting operational standards, following the guidelines
Provide nursing leadership and effective delivery of optimal nursing care to all seniors in the centre and home care
Provide orientation and guidance for new staff through continuing education and supervision to achieve quality care
Implementation of a quality management system, its use and development in the unit
Know-how:
Know-how in nursing and the necessary education and training
Know-how in audit and quality management
Know-how in legal matters concerning social and health services
Know-how in serving as a consultant and providing clinical expertise to staff on professional nursing issues
Responsibilities:
Performs entry assessment and organises Hovi Assessment for Hovi Club and Hovi Home seniors
Performs assessment and reassessment for Hovi Home seniors upon activation of service, along with PL, and reports to CM for further decision
Organises daily nursing assessment for seniors
Leads in response, performs first aid and arranges for an ambulance when an emergency arises.
Complies with the Nursebuddy system requirements in care and documentation
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to seniors and families
Guides the team in carrying out escalation protocols and documenting Incident Reporting when necessary
Protects seniors and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols; performs medication administration, storage procedures
Assess and monitor the health and nutritional status of seniors.
Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains nursing supplies inventory by recording usage, anticipating needed supplies and requisitions
Promotes seniors' independence by establishing care plans/goals and reviewing six-monthly or when necessary
Provides teaching and counselling to seniors and family members by reinforcing their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills
Trains the homecare staff in the dos and don'ts of don'ts to undertake
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by implementing and updating procedures, rules, and regulations
Assists the CM and PL in planning the daily work shift
Leads in risk management in nursing and any other projects that are assigned by the company
Resolves problems and identifies system improvements
Ensures seniors' contributions to strategic plans and reviews
Assists in the implementation of the quality management system, such as production, productivity, quality, and client service standards
Adheres to the Handbook, policies and procedures
Decision making:
Guidelines related to nursing and the Ministry of Health (MOH) policies.
Participating in decision-making concerning personnel with CM
Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and report to the Centre Manager when necessary.

Job Requirements:
Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Graduate Diploma or Degree in Nursing
At least 5 years of working experience in the eldercare/dementia care field is preferred.
Has a valid SNB (RN) License
Has passion, patience and compassion in serving elderly seniors
Team players with strong communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities
Capable of working independently and under time constraints in both home care and centre-based services
