Job summary

A prominent HR advisory firm located in Singapore is seeking a Youth Work Associate to provide trauma-informed care to female adolescents who have faced abuse. This role involves supervising daily activities, providing emotional support, and handling crises. Candidates should have experience working with youth at-risk and basic counseling skills. Working on shifts, including weekends, is required.

Qualifications

  • Must possess experience working with young beneficiaries with complex trauma.
  • Willing to work on 3-shift rotations and weekends/Public Holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily operational duties and supervise residents.
  • Assist residents with day-to-day issues and ensure their welfare.
  • Promote discipline and serve as a mentor.
  • Handle crises and conflicts effectively.
  • Participate in addressing residents' individual needs.

Skills

Experience in working with youth at-risk
Basic processing and counselling skills
Knowledge of common issues and disorders resulting from trauma

Job description

Youth Work Associate
  • Working Days: 5 days/week – 44 hrs (3 shifts)
  • Salary: $2,200 to $3,100

The Youth Care Worker is responsible with delivering trauma-informed care, supervision, and management to female adolescents who have faced abuse or neglect. Focused on enhancing wellness and quality of life, the Youth Care Worker ensures that the residents' basic personal, physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational, and social needs are comprehensively addressed.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the daily operational duties and supervise residents in their regular activities
  • Assist residents with any difficulties related to day-to-day issues at Dayspring Residential Treatment Centre and ensure their welfare and safety
  • Promote discipline among the residents and be a mentor/role model to them
  • Assess, respond and handle crises or conflicts
  • Carry out individual therapeutic interventions based on care plans by treatment team
  • Participate in providing physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational, and social needs of residents

Requirement

Youth Mentors are required to work with young beneficiaries with complex trauma

  • With experience in working with youth at-risk
  • With basic processing and counselling skills
  • With knowledge of common issues and disorders that appears in trauma and abuse
  • Willing to work on 3-shift rotations and over weekend/Public Holidays
