Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore is seeking a Cardiac Technologist to operate and maintain cardiovascular equipment and to mentor interns in the Cardiac Technology Elective Cluster. A science degree or Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology is required, with 3–5 years of experience; CIED

Qualifications

• Minimum science degree or polytechnic diploma in cardiovascular technology or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant working experience.
• CIED experience is preferred; registration with CAAHEP/ARDMS is optional.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cardiovascular tests (ECG, Holter, BP) including data download, analysis, and interpretation.
• Perform treadmill ECG and assist in imaging stress testing.
• Independently perform at least one complex modality: transthoracic echocardiography, invasive angiograms/PTCA, or CIED checks/implant programming.
• Prepare preliminary reports, escalate serious findings to the echocardiologist, and maintain patient records.
• Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, manage inventory and support audits and safety compliance.

JOB SUMMARY

The Cardiac Technologist operates and maintains cardiovascular equipment to provide detailed analysis of cardiovascular functions in the centre, and supports the mentorship of interns from the Cardiac Technology Elective Cluster on an annual basis.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical and Technical

• Perform routine cardiovascular tests (ECG, Ambulatory Holter/Blood Pressure) including download, analysis, and interpretation of data.
• Perform Treadmill ECG and assist in Imaging Stress Testing independently.
• Perform at least one complex cardiovascular modality independently: Transthoracic Echocardiography, Invasive Cardiovascular Angiograms/PTCA, or CIED checks, programming, and implants.
• Perform 2D echo independently, prepare preliminary reports, and escalated serious findings to the reporting echocardiologist with appropriate urgency.

Administrative and Operational

• Prepare procedure reports and maintain accurate patient records and operational data.
• Maintain equipment, troubleshoot errors, and keep records of all repairs and routine maintenance.
• Maintain the emergency trolley and assist the Supervisor in managing inventory of supplies and materials.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance

• Assist in audits and ensure cardiac equipment meets all regulatory and safety requirements.
• Uphold patient rights and safety, comply with infection control standards, and maintain a clean work environment.
• Participate in the Hospital's Quality Improvement programme and embrace continuous improvement in daily work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Science degree or Polytechnic Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent; Biomedical Science/Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Candidates with CIED experience will be given priority.
• Optional: Registration with CAAHEP, ARDMS, or equivalent body.
