You will lead complex individual projects (up to CHF 30 Mil) or promote a portfolio of projects as assigned by the Regional BP and CapEx/PM Lead in the region. You will facilitate site master plan (SMP) studies, apply Project Gate Process (PGP) methodology in the region, and drive the CapEx related tools/systems (PPM, SAP/PS) in the region.

Reporting to: Regional Engineering CAPEX Head APAC

Main Responsibilities

People Management

• Assemble and manage the project team (internal, external resources)
• Animate and coordinate the performance of the project team members
• Monitor project team performance and complete performance reviews (also for future use)
• Coach, mentor and motivate project team and site project managers/engineers
• Train others CAPEX project managers/engineers on CapEx/PM processes (PGP, SMP) and systems/tools (PPM/SAP)

Function management:

• Guide daily work of assigned strategic project (or phase) and manage project resources to drive a successful project delivery
• Prepare Project/Portfolio Plan and financial forecasts/estimates for all phases
• Deliver appropriate executive level communication to SteerCo and stakeholders with regular status reporting, KPIs, project deliverables, dependencies and risks
• Manage Project and drive project portfolio according to the CapEx/PM processes
• Ensure adherence to Global, regional and local standards (EHS, Quality, IM&S, IM&T, ManEx/GPS, Innovation, Sustainability)
• Drive selection of engineering suppliers and vendors together with IM&S, assisting negotiation and dispute management
• Facilitate and resolve conflicts among project team members or other stakeholders
• Provide consultation and participate in Post Implementation Reviews
• Participate in the development of CapEx/PM best practices when requested

Decision-making authority:

• Initial signature on contracts with external engineering suppliers
• Authorization of scope changes to Steering Committee

Main Requirements

• Education background in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Project Management certification (PMI, PRINCE2) is an added advantage
• Experience leading large green/brownfield projects
• 8 years or more experience in the food, FMCG or chemical manufacturing industry
• Experienced in mentoring
• Experience in contracts management and supplier selection processes

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines
• Design and construction of food/chemical plants
• Solid knowledge of CapEx and related financial aspects
• User of PPM tools (preferably CA Clarity)
