An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Capability Acquisition Engineer to join our Aerospace manufacturing operations at Seletar, Singapore. This role is responsible for delivering manufacturing technology and capability acquisition projects to support our world-class aero engine production. You will partner with Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Manufacturing Process Owners to ensure that the deployed solutions align with strategic business needs and operational excellence.

What you will be doing

Key Accountabilities

  • Health, Safety and Environment:
    Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with the applicable Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and align with our Zero Harm safety culture.
  • Product Safety:
    Safeguard that processes are robust and capable of delivering parts and assemblies to the correct design specifications, mitigating process deviations and quality risks.
  • Quality and Compliance:
    Promote a culture of zero defects and ensure adherence to Rolls-Royce Manufacturing System (RRMS), Supplier Management requirements, and relevant export control and intellectual property standards.
  • Manufacturing Capability Development:
    Identify opportunities for manufacturing innovation and process improvement. Plan and execute capability acquisition projects that support safety, quality, cost, delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Project Management:
    Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of projects including scope, schedule, cost, resource allocation, and stakeholder alignment. Ensure timely delivery and resolution of risks and issues.
  • Technology Implementation:
    Develop, validate, and deploy manufacturing technologies and production equipment, ensuring they meet current and future operational needs.
  • Process Documentation:
    Create and maintain the technical packages and documentation needed to clearly define and control manufacturing processes.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Work with engineering, operations, quality, and digital systems teams to ensure technical readiness. Share knowledge, document lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship and Development:
    Continuously develop your own engineering capability. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians in your area of expertise.
  • Supplier and Partner Engagement:
    Maintain effective working relationships with external technology partners, equipment suppliers, and contractors to ensure successful delivery of capability objectives.
  • Support for Capital Projects:
    Participate in capital investment initiatives related to manufacturing capacity, facility upgrades, or new production lines, where required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace or equivalent). A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent national certification) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in aerospace or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Proven track record in deploying manufacturing technologies and managing capital equipment or process development projects.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, process control, and regulatory compliance in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of export control, intellectual property, and risk management in a global engineering context.
  • Excellent project management, analytical and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring or leading technical teams is an advantage.
