We are seeking a talented Software Engineer with a strong aptitude for programming to join our dynamic Capital Market Department!

In this role, you will contribute to projects and possess the capability to make breakthroughs in design, development, testing, debugging, and implementing software applications or specialised utility programs in support of end users' needs on platforms.

Capital Markets IT involves technology solutions and systems used in financial markets for trading, investment, and related activities, including electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, market risk, counterparty risk, algorithmic trading, data analytics, and regulatory measures. Advanced technologies like APIs, artificial intelligence, and cloud solutions are increasingly used to enhance efficiency and decision-making.

The department is responsible for development and maintenance of Capital Market IT applications (both in-house and packaged) used worldwide, covering Front Office (e.g., Murex, Apex, Orchestrade), Back Office (e.g., Summit, Calypso), Market data referential (e.g., Asset Control), and Market Risk applications (including big data technologies).

The Foreign Exchange (FX) IT division works across the full value chain to sustain and accelerate business activity.

This role focuses on developing the Calypso back office package, both in project mode and maintenance, supporting the "run the bank" function. It requires a deep understanding of business operations, timing, and data flow through internal and external systems. The build and support team collaborates closely with business users, infrastructure engineers, and system managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and develop software and network utilities, analyzing user needs to develop solutions.
  • Identify and resolve issues with organization-wide and long-term impact, including security risks and threat modeling.
  • Develop and maintain software configuration management plans, overseeing software releases and providing guidance to testing teams.
  • Update and enhance software capabilities, developing testing and validation procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of features and troubleshoot issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
  • Participate in R&D proof of concept projects.
  • Leverage programming skills to automate tasks and create custom tools using Python, shell scripting, etc.
  • Support team members and communicate ideas effectively.
  • Work with hardware engineers to integrate infrastructure constraints.
  • Develop in JAVA for Calypso v14.4, including internal components.
  • Manage incidents, requests, and change management following release strategies.
  • Provide application support (Level 3), troubleshoot, and fix issues.
  • Contribute to process improvements and coach junior team members.
  • Design and develop software solutions, working with other engineers to integrate hardware/software systems.
