Job summary

CHEE SIN ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to develop electrical designs from concepts, calculations, and specifications. You will use AutoCAD and other CADD software to create 2D & 3D drawings across disciplines and revise drawings to maintain accuracy while meeting project timelines.

Work with engineers to understand project requirements, stay updated on drafting standards, and manage material lists, BOMs, and documentation in a controlled system.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/ Chemical/ Instrumentation or related field preferred.
• 1 year in electrical drafting or 3 years as CAD Drafter; read drawings/specs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, 2D & 3D drafting; familiar with CADD software.
• Strong engineering principles; able to work under tight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from concepts and data.
• Operate CAD workstations; design and prepare plans with CAD software.
• Create detailed designs per specifications; ensure industry standards.
• Revise and correct drawing errors to maintain accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineers to meet project requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AutoCAD, drafting standards, and trends.
• Assist in generating BOMs, reports, and schedules.
• Produce 2D & 3D drawings across structural, P&ID, GA, layouts.
• Prepare enclosure specs and material order lists.
• Review drawings for accuracy and schedule adherence.
• Generate material requisitions and verify against drawings.
• Maintain and update revisions of all project drawings.
• File documents per the document control system; perform related duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
• Operate computer-assisted design and drafting workstations, utilizing CADD software to design and prepare plans.
• Create detailed designs and diagrams according to provided specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Revise and correct errors in drawings or plans to maintain accuracy.
• Work closely with engineers to understand project requirements and deliver precise draft plans.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AutoCAD software, drafting standards, and industry trends.
• Assist in generating parts lists, Bills of Materials (BOM), reports, and schedules.
• Produce and manage 2D & 3D drawings across various disciplines such as structural, P&ID (Schematic), General Arrangements, and Layouts.
• Prepare enclosure specifications and compile material order lists.
• Review drawings for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all drafting tasks are completed within schedule.
• Generate material requisition orders and check them against the drawings.
• Maintain and update revisions of all project drawings.
• File documents according to the document control system and perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical drafting or 3 years as a CAD Drafter, with the ability to read construction documents and specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, 2D & 3D drafting skills, and CADD software.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and background.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Independent, self-motivated, and capable of working under tight schedules.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime if required.
