Cabling Consultant - Data Center (Loyang / Sunview)

Job summary

CBRE Pte Ltd invites applications for a lead cabling design role focused on data center projects. You will partner with the global EDC Infrastructure Cabling Engineering team to ensure consistency across designs and deployments.

The role requires hands-on experience with live data centers, AutoCAD, and certification in cabling standards. You will manage tenders, vendors, and field installations, with some after-hours work as needed to witness testing and handovers.

Qualifications

• Data center related work experience, financial company background is a plus.
• Good understanding of existing live data center environment and constraints.
• AutoCAD.
• Relevant international cabling certifications is a plus (e.g. RCDD).
• Project Management is a plus (such as PMP)

Responsibilities

• Take lead and manage the cabling design for client’s existing and new data center.
• Prepare technical tender documents and specifications (e.g. design drawing, scope of work, cabling design criteria, tender price sheet).
• Coordinate with Internal Technology teams collecting cabling design requirements.
• Project manage budget, cabling vendor, review shop drawings, procurement, delivery logistics, schedule installation and program, and witness commissioning testing and handover.
• Project close out of cabling O&M manuals and as-built drawings.
• Plan and manage the new cabling requirement or change requirement in existing DC.
• Manage the cabling record (patching record, patch panel record) in existing DC operation.
• Work with DC Operation team in managing Move and Changes in existing DC, sourcing consumables with vendors, manage material stock level based on project and operation needs.
• Products familiarization: Panduit Cat6A copper & fiber (OS2, OM4+) products, high density fiber cassette solutions; Panduit / CPI Racks/cabinets, Panduit patching frames or equivalent; Fluke instruments usage; ISO/TIA testing standards; LC, MPO/MTP interfaces; Cisco/Arista experience.

Job description

Job Responsibility

• Take lead and manage the cabling design for client’s existing and new data center. Work closely with global EDC Infrastructure Cabling Engineering team on the detailed design to ensure global consistency.
• Prepare technical tender documents and specifications (e.g. design drawing, scope of work, cabling design criteria, tender price sheet), work with client’s procurement team to issue RFP. Conduct tender interviews, issue tender queries and provide recommendation report on selecting cabling vendors.
• Coordinate with Internal Technology teams (e.g. Telco Networking, Server, Security Firewall teams, etc) collecting cabling design requirements.
• Project manage budget, cabling vendor, review shop drawings, procurement, delivery logistics, schedule installation and program, and witness commissioning testing and handover.
• Project close out of cabling O&M manuals and as-built drawings.
• Plan and manage the new cabling requirement or change requirement in existing DC.
• Manage the cabling record (patching record, patch panel record) in existing DC operation.
• Work with DC Operation team in managing Move and Changes in existing DC, sourcing consumables with vendors, manage material stock level based on project and operation needs.
• Products familiarization:
• Panduit Cat6A copper & fiber (OS2, OM4+) products, experience in high density fiber cassette solutions
• Panduit / CPI Racks/cabinets, Panduit patching frames or equivalent
• Thorough understanding on using Fluke Network Instruments (e.g. DSX-5000 or 8000 Cable Analyzer)
• Industry best practices, including familiarization with ISO/TIA based testing standards/regimes
• Experience in using LC, MPO/MTP interfaces for single or multimode fiber solutions
• Experience in Cisco and Arista equipment is a plus
