Job description

We are looking for a motivated and experienced buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in growing revenue and developing relationships with key brands. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of top brands, developing and executing sales strategies, and driving growth.

The ZALORA Buyer has a great level of ownership and accountability. With responsibilities for your own brand and range, you are expected to have a holistic business-wide perspective, identifying wins and opportunities collaboratively outside your direct team.

Success in this role requires continuous development of skills, including people skills, job skills, and a sound understanding of our customer and competition.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct regular brand review meetings (monthly, quarterly, seasonal).
  • Build and buy the most relevant range for the target customer.
  • Own weekly trade activities within your department, including replenishment, stock swaps, RTS, etc.
  • Support contract negotiations with new brands and suppliers.
  • Stay informed on fashion and retail trends and assess their impact on trading climate.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and gather ideas for online layout, content, brand acquisitions, and sales initiatives.
  • Identify promotional and marketing opportunities to motivate sales and enhance the retail environment.
  • Perform in-season and end-of-season SWOT analyses and present findings to senior management.
  • Manage brand performance metrics such as margin, sell-through, stock turn, and delivery.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in retail, focusing on shoes/sports buying and merchandising, including e-commerce exposure.
  • Experience with the buying cycle, seasonal planning, and management.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient in Excel, with experience in data reporting and analysis.
  • Effective communication skills with brands and internal teams.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive, driven, and results-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills with a full-picture perspective.
