We are hiring a Buyer to join our dynamic Project Systems team in Singapore. Based in Tukang, this role supports our mission-critical power generation projects by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of Balance of Plant (BoP) and related electrical and mechanical components.
As a Buyer, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process for engineered-to-order projects involving complex generator-set installations. You will engage with both global and local vendors, manage sourcing strategies, and ensure effective purchasing of electrical systems, control panels, switchgear, transformers, and other BoP components.
Rolls-Royce Power Systems is headquartered in Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and employs around 9,000 people. The product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, power generation, heavy land, rail and defense vehicles and for the oil and gas industry as well as diesel and gas systems and battery containers for mission critical, standby and continuous power, combined generation of heat and power, and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities
Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the vendor base
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and support audits where applicable
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and quality
- Develop vendors to align with project-specific technical and commercial needs
Purchasing Execution
- Manage RFQ, negotiation, and PO issuance processes in alignment with project timelines
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Planning, and Project Management teams to align procurement with technical requirements
- Ensure delivery schedules, pricing, quality, and contractual terms are met
- Drive cost savings and value-for-money initiatives while ensuring quality compliance
- Resolve supply and delivery issues swiftly and effectively
Process and Systems Compliance
- Adhere strictly to company procurement policies, processes, and approval workflows
- Maintain accurate data and documentation in SAP (MM and Purchasing modules)
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring full compliance
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in purchasing for project-based or industrial equipment, ideally in power generation, marine, or energy sectors
- Strong understanding of Balance of Plant (BoP) equipment procurement
- Working knowledge of SAP, especially MM and Purchasing modules
- Proven negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to handle complexity, multi-vendor situations, and fast-paced project deadlines
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, and proactive in problem-solving
