Buyer

Evaluates planned order and exception reports using Oracle Applications Planners Workbench.

Analyzes requirements for supplies, raw materials, and equipment necessary for the operation of production and other internal customers.

Exercises an adequate working knowledge of materials and sources of supply and makes purchases at prices consistent with quality and quantity requirements.

Issues Purchase Orders for raw materials, equipment and other internal customer requirements and expedites material as planned.

Coordinates technical issues between suppliers and engineering personnel.

Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of nonconformance and takes appropriate corrective action with supplier.

Liaises with logistics and finance on receiving, invoices/payment issues.

Supports and manages ECO implementation, rework, purge & cost impact.

Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Diploma with 2-3 years of relevant experience.

Experience with ERP software required, preferably Oracle Applications.

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Write routine reports and correspondences.

Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Able to work with different departments/functional groups.
