Job Summary:-

The Buyer is assigned commodity management responsibility for specific parts, services, commodities and critical process supplies. The Buyer is responsible for maintaining commercial supplier relationships, negotiating price, managing delivery and support resolution of quality issue, establishing material master data accuracy, providing inventory planning and purchasing activities associated with these items in full compliance with company, EHS, and Legal requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplies like consumables, MRO items, spare parts, and project-related materials.

  • Negotiate with suppliers on product specifications, quality, expectations, price, delivery and other terms.

  • Review new material or part requests to determine if existing material or supplier can satisfy the need; add new items to the system if needed.

  • Work with stakeholders to evaluate and set- up new suppliers in system.

  • Develop strategic plans, forecast material demand, and oversee material requirements to ensure timely acquisition and good inventory management.

  • Monitor unusual trends or usage in materials.

  • Create and follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery

  • Ensure compliance to Company Procurement Strategy & Policies.

  • Coordinate with teams to resolve quality or supply issues quickly.

  • Share updates on product, supplier, or service changes with relevant teams.

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma holder with relevant qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

  • A team player with good communication and negotiation skills

  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Chemical Inventory management would be an added advantage

  • Ability to manage material requirements planning (MRP) and optimize inventory levels

  • Strong skills in contract management, pricing negotiations, and supplier relationship management.

  • Experience in forecasting demand, scheduling production, and ensuring timely material availability.
