Purpose of the role

Accountabilities
- Collaborate with business and senior leadership to develop and implement strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between different business units and functions, fostering communication and collaboration.
- Manage and coordinate strategic initiatives, projects, and change management efforts to optimize processes and strengthen the control environment.
- Improve operational efficiency by identifying areas for improvement, streamlining processes, and implementing best practices to enhance productivity.
- Develop performance reports for key metrics that support strategic objectives and external commitments, including financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Support business heads in partnership with HR on hiring, workforce planning, and personnel changes.
Director Expectations
- Manage a business function, contributing to strategic initiatives, policy development, and overseeing complex projects that may span the entire business.
- Lead a large team or sub-function, fostering a performance culture aligned with company values, or lead organization-wide projects as a technical expert and thought leader, training and coaching less experienced staff.
- Provide expert advice to senior management and committees to influence decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Manage resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, escalating breaches appropriately.
- Foster and guide regulatory compliance and ensure relevant processes are in place.
- Monitor and influence external environment, regulators, and advocacy groups on behalf of the organization.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the function's role within the business and industry practices, staying updated on market developments.
- Use analytical skills to solve complex problems and design solutions.
- Make significant decisions within their area, exercising management authority.
- Negotiate and influence stakeholders at senior levels internally and externally.
- Act as the primary contact for key clients and cross-functional counterparts.
- Represent the function and business division as a spokesperson.
