Role purpose

The Business Group Leader (BGL) is accountable to the Business Advisory and Regional Leadership team for revenue and growth targets, team utilization, project performance, maintaining and developing client relationships, and fostering a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Business Group's annual business plan aligned with GHD’s values and strategy.
• Manage risk, ensure safety, and ensure projects comply with GHD’s Quality, HSE, and IMS standards.
• Manage group performance, people, and approvals in line with GHD’s Limits of Authority.
• Promote awareness of business group services across regions.
• Maintain and develop client relationships and identify new clients with the help of Executive Advisors and Market Leaders across APAC.
• Uphold GHD's Client Experience principles within the group.
• Foster collaboration across regions to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor employees to meet current and future project needs and support their career development.
• Create and execute team engagement plans.
• Encourage innovation and deployment of digital and technological solutions.
• Develop project packages, budgets, and monitor progress with Project Directors/Managers.
• Oversee resource allocation, communication, and project leadership within the group.
• Support financial management activities including invoicing and forecasting.
• Build relationships with other BGLs, Market Leaders, and Business Services.

Experience And Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Expertise in a professional discipline, demonstrated through experience in the industry or consulting.
• Proven leadership in managing multiple consultancy projects over $0.5m.
• Experience managing a team, including P&L responsibility, development, and engagement.
• Strong judgment, decisiveness, and a bias for action.
• Innovative mindset with change management skills.
• Proactive, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
