Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with over 2,000 lawyers and staff in 32 offices, is seeking a BD Specialist. This role will be based in one of our offices across Asia (Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo) and will support the Asia offices with their business development efforts.


The Business Development Specialist will be expected to coordinate day-to-day activities with supervision, must be self-motivated and detail oriented. They must be able to draft and synthesize content into compelling messages and have outstanding organizational and communication skills. The successful candidate must be a strong writer in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English, be able to draft and synthesize content into compelling messages and have outstanding organizational skills.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This job description is not exhaustive, and the post-holder may be required to undertake additional duties from time to time to assist the Head of Business Development, Asia. Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Draft and coordinates pitches, RFP responses and presentations
  • Manage pitch content library and Business Development materials
  • Contribute to global pitch proposals
  • Coordinates Chinese translation of Business Development collateral, seminar presentations, pitches, and proposals
  • Maintain and identify deal descriptions using Foundation, the firm’s experience management system, for the Asia offices.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external mailing lists, contact lists, guest lists, and client profiles using InterAction, the firm’s CRM platform, for relevant practice and the Asia offices.
  • Draft internal and external communications and Business Development collateral
  • Contributes to the development, prioritization, and implementation of business development plans for the Asia offices.
  • Works collaboratively with industry groups to support, drive and implement industry-related activities for the Asia offices.
  • Draft and coordinates directory submissions
  • Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to budget, measuring ROI on expenses, invoice tracking and maintenance
  • Collaborate and work with the wider Business Development and marketing team across the global network

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, or
  • Minimum of two to three years of experience including creating and preparing Business
  • Development collateral, pitch proposals, presentations, and RFP responses and must possess excellent writing skills
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced
  • professional environment
  • Strong organizational, team building, and communication skills are essential
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills are required in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English, including
  • the ability to write business correspondence
  • Must be proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and database applications
  • Law firm or professional services firm experience is required

To perform this job successfully, the post holder must be proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Chrome River, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
