Our PayPal, Venmo, and Xoom products also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Description Summary: This position, Business Development Representative (BDR) is the catalyst to convert top of funnel interest to revenue. This vital role is the “lead gen engine” and strategic liaison to our sellers and merchants, driving PayPal’s market share by generating new opportunities for the sales pipeline. The BDR Team partners closely with the Sellers to align on the GTM focus and strategy, alongside our Database Marketing team to provide constructive feedback for quality improvement on leads that come through the top of the funnel.

Your way to impact:

The BDR will execute high velocity outreach to merchants in Hong Kong and other APAC markets as deemed fit. Leveraging tactics such as cold calling, social selling, digital communication, and networking with the aim to connect merchants to our sellers to convert sales.

In your day-to-day you will:

  • Achieve and exceed your targets and KPIs.
  • Actively contact prospective merchants via phone, email, in-person events and social platforms to generate and uncover new opportunities.
  • Perform initial needs assessment of prospect while identifying existing pain points to determine how PayPal’s platform could address those needs.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records for all activities in Salesforce.com.
  • Research and stay up to date on current market trends, opportunities, and competition.
  • Often first point of contact to potential clients, you are required to exercise keen listening skills to identify pain/challenge/opportunity to best position the PYPL solution portfolio.
  • Conduct research to expand contact lists within targeted accounts using tools like Zoominfo, Sales Navigator and other methods.

What do you need to bring:

  • Strong passion for Sales with a dynamic hunter personality to reach decision makers.
  • A high degree of comfort with “cold calls” and skilled at navigating through various barriers to engage with key decision makers.
  • 1-2 years of relevant sales, marketing or business development experience. SaaS sales experience is a plus.
  • Full working proficiency and fluency in English, Cantonese, Mandarin is required.
  • Proven track record in outperforming both individual and team goals/KPIs.
  • Previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns is a plus.
  • Motivation and energy to drive early-stage revenue opportunities.
  • Desire to learn enterprise sales methodologies and strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively, both independently and as part of a team, in a high energy, ever-changing, dynamic sales environment.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Navigator, and GONG is a plus.
