About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Mooreast Asia Pte Ltd as a Business Development Manager (Yard services). This full-time role is located in the Shipyard West Region and will be responsible to report to Regional Business Development Manager, APAC for driving new business growth and revenue generation for our yard services offerings.
Job description
Monitor vessel & rig movements / conversions across APAC markets
Track vessel and rig berthing, maintenance, IRM & conversion projects in APAC
Identify new clients and assess their potential for yard services / solutions.
Gather market intelligence on competition landscape.
Use business contacts to promote the company and services.
Conduct business development efforts with clients across key markets and projects.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers.
Maintain communications for existing & potential clients with consistent communication and service delivery excellence.
Ensure all existing clients & accounts under your responsibility are managed to maximise spend across Mooreast service offerings.
Manage sales pipeline and lead generation in accordance with Mooreast CRM and ERP systems and support management with sales forecasting.
Prepare and submit comprehensive tenders and proposals tailored to client requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and operations, to ensure accurate and competitive submissions.
Generate profitable new business for the company in accordance with group targets
Develop and execute Mooreast strategies to achieve revenue targets for the mooring business segment.
Prepare and deliver high quality proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to client needs.
Collaborate with the Regional Business Development Manager to align on strategies and share market insights.
Represent & promote Mooreast at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions
Build a professional network across the APAC region relevant to your target markets/sectors
Maintain up-to-date records of business development activities, sales pipelines, and client interactions in CRM database.
Provide visit reports after business trips and meeting with clients.
Provide regular progress reports to the CCO, Regional Business Development Manager, highlighting key wins and areas for improvement
Degree qualification
Bachelor’s degree in business management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
Minimum 5 years work experience and 10+ years of regional SEA preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or related role within oil & gas, shipyard IRM/repair & marine construction yard services.
Progressive sales history with Oil & Gas operators, vessel owners, asset managers, subsea marine & construction asset owners
Previous sales management experience driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets in accordance with group forecasts and year on year growth targets
Knowledge of shipyard & fabrication services essential
Market awareness of the following is deemed critical to success in the role:
Marine, Oil & Gas, Construction and Ship Repair markets
Marine & subsea construction markets
Offshore drilling markets – Rig SPS scoping and support
AHTS / OCV / OSV movements and requirements
Familiarity with the Asia Pacific & Oceanic regions is essential
Experience in tendering activities and proposals preparation essential
Recognised formal qualification in sales or business discipline preferred
Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and sales pipeline management
CRM Proficiency and direct user experience
Ability to develop tailored presentations for clients in accordance with group branding guidelines
Self-starter with clear & persuasive communication and negotiation skills
Excellent relationship-building skills
Open & honest communicator with a team mindset
Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
