As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving merchant acquisition, shaping product strategy through customer feedback, and building strong commercial relationships in Singapore and the Asian region. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to merchants, collaborate closely with internal product and engineering teams, and influence long-term growth through strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead merchant acquisition and deepen relationships to drive revenue and product adoption.
- Act as a strategic liaison between product, engineering, and customers to co-create innovative solutions.
- Work cross-functionally to identify opportunities, shape go-to-market plans, and influence product direction.
- Develop and execute partnership strategies with banks and financial institutions in the region.
- Drive end-to-end deal execution, including commercial negotiation and contract structuring.
- Represent customer voice internally and identify opportunities to enhance user experience and market fit.
Requirements:
- 5–10 years of experience in complex solution sales within the payments industry.
- Proven track record in merchant acquisition and business development in Singapore or across Asia.
- Strong grasp of technical and product concepts, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing commercial and technical discussions, including with legal and cross-functional teams to structure and close deals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights and turn them into actionable strategies.
- Ability to influence outcomes using both data and intuition, and to navigate ambiguity with confidence.
