Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager (Cruise) will be responsible for growing the Cruise Vertical focusing on the Asia Pacific Region customers for cruises around the world. The ideal candidate will have a background in the cruise industry, traditional or Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Strategy Development:
    • Develop and execute business strategies that prioritize growth and positive customer ratings.
    • Identify and analyze market trends and competitor activities to pinpoint business opportunities.
  2. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including travel agencies, cruise operators, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Understand client needs and tailor cruise offerings accordingly.
  3. Sales and Revenue Generation:
    • Generate new sales campaigns and work with the marketing team to convert them into bookings.
    • Negotiate pricing and contracts to maximize profitability with cruise suppliers.
    • Monitor sales progress and ensure that corporate goals are being met.
    • Use financial techniques to improve sales revenue.
  4. Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify potential target markets and customer segments.
    • Analyze market data and trends to inform business development strategies.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
    • Prepare and present proposals to clients that align with their business needs and objectives.
  6. Other Responsibilities:
    • Oversee growth projects, making sales projections and forecasting revenue.

Skills:

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the cruise industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of success in business development or sales.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Travel agency or Cruise operator experience or knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing or sale of Cruises or a related role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
