This is a well-established company with a trusted and world-renowned brand. The Business Development Manager, APAC will drive new and existing customer & distributor relationships in the region. Globally, the firm aspires to grow their topline 3x in the next five years.

Job Description

The Business Development Manager, APAC is responsible for driving direct and distributor sales of flare measurement technologies into demanding industries such as O&G and petrochemicals. They operate with a lean global team, so the role will be responsible for end-to-end strategy, implementation, and business development in APAC.

Reporting to the Business Development Director, APAC, this role is responsible for:

  • Leading sales in APAC by bringing new O&G relationships to the group
  • Managing existing distributor and direct relationships
  • Building a strategic growth plan for the business
  • Targeting regional EPC companies to enlist on their approved vendor lists
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to identify and convert cross-selling opportunities in other geographic regions
  • Having a strong understanding of competitors in the industry and identifying potential market expansion
  • Owning the regional business plan covering inventory and production
  • Providing market insights to the product management team to ensure the business is innovating to suit customer needs
  • Quarterly reporting to the Group Managing Director on market risks, opportunities, and forecasting

The Successful Applicant

  • Masters' or Bachelors' Degree in mechanical, industrial, or a related technical discipline
  • Four or more years in selling flare measurement technologies to heavy industries, with at least two years in an APAC role
  • Strong distributor relationships in the region
  • Existing network for Oil & Gas, petrochemicals customers with at least two years of selling to enterprise clients
  • Experience in driving consistent double-digit growth for high-value products, with a strong knowledge of CRM tools
  • The role requires frequent overseas travel in APAC: we estimate 50% travel in the first two years
