Our client is an innovative engineering company headquartered in Europe. They are a leading manufacturer of high-performance fans & blowers, used across sectors such as consumer electronics, medical technology, personal protection, and automotive. This family-owned, privately-held business has been in the market for over fifty years, known for their products' design, durability, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

The Business Development Manager, APAC, will be responsible for driving customer acquisition and distributor relationships within the region.

Job Description

The Business Development Manager, APAC will oversee direct and channel/distributor sales of fans & blowers in industries like consumer electronics, medical technology, and personal protection. Reporting to the CEO, this role encompasses strategy, implementation, and business development in APAC, especially given the lean team structure. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading sales initiatives in APAC by establishing new distributor or OEM relationships
  2. Managing existing distributor and direct customer relationships
  3. Developing a strategic growth plan for the APAC region
  4. Conducting market and competitive analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and regulatory developments, particularly in the medical technology sector
  5. Collaborating with HQ in Europe to set revenue and customer growth targets
  6. Understanding industry competitors thoroughly
  7. Overseeing financial performance, including profitability and cost management
  8. Managing regional inventory and production plans
  9. Providing quarterly reports to the CEO and Global Sales Head on market risks, opportunities, and forecasts
  10. As the business scales, hiring and coaching a team in Singapore / APAC

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, industrial, or a related technical field
  • At least five years of B2B product or solutions sales experience, preferably with contacts in the medical technology sector
  • Strong relationships with distributors and OEMs in APAC
  • Experience in expanding into new markets and project management skills
  • Proven track record of achieving double-digit growth in component sales and proficiency with CRM tools
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Asia and Europe (approximately 50% in the first year)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in APAC
