Job description

Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manger, you will work with the Agency partners to identify and engage customers on their general insurance needs. Working with the Agency team, you will solicit new business to drive agency portfolio growth across Auto, MidCorp and other Business Lines. You will be an advocate of the organization with our agency partners, and an important partner to the local underwriting team. Sales and customer service performance are closely measured, and you must be comfortable working in a target driven environment, with individual KPI’s focused on a defined customer group. You will also develop communication strategies and programs to further develop relationships with our agency partner with respect to sales production, retention and overall branding.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Agency recruitment activities and achieve recruitment target
  • Execute on sales and business development strategy
  • Establish strong partnership with our agency partner and their customers
  • Working with agents to understand their client’s insurance needs
  • Coordinate deal flow and critical information between our agency partner and our underwriting departments
  • Coordinate with internal departments for problem solving and service improvement
  • Provide existing Insurers and prospects with appropriate general insurance advice
  • Assist in delivering new product launches and campaigns with our agency partner
  • Support the management team to optimize business opportunities across all sales channels with our agency partners
  • Regular business reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Track and feedback overall agents experience to internal stakeholders for continuous improvement
  • Ability to present to external and internal stakeholders
  • Commercial lines underwriting

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry
  • 3+ years of experience in the GI industry with agency business
  • 2+ years of experience in the P&C or Auto distribution channel (Agency) preferred
  • Insurance certifications (BCP, ComGI, PGI)
  • Possess strong business acumen
  • Familiar with commercial general insurance products and sales of insurance in agency
  • Possess strong influencing ability across a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Proven sales track record as well as record in developing products to increase market share
  • Self–motivated, creative, driven and resourceful
  • Effective in verbal and written communication in English
