Job description

The Business Development Professional will be responsible for running a variety of dedicated projects under strict timelines. The goal is to contribute to the strategic growth plans by setting up collaborations and executing acquisitions. Responsibilities will include establishing networks with industry specialists, maintaining valued customer relationships, and negotiating deals.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Drive strategic business development to improve market positioning and financial growth of the company
  • Manage complex projects with various internal and external stakeholders worldwide and on all levels
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and execute acquisition, cooperation and licensing agreements
  • Analyze opportunities and markets, including business plan development
  • Analyze and expand business operations toward sustained growth
  • Monitor revenue streams and identify opportunities to increase profitability
  • Scout new / beneficial technologies
  • Identify new clients by researching and creating networking opportunities
  • Interface with various functions across the company, such as Marketing, Product Development, Legal, Intellectual Property Management to align strategies
  • Create and present strategic plans to Senior Management
  • Assess and advise on potential joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions

Qualification & Skills:

  • Academic degree in natural science, business administration or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in corporate strategy, business development, mergers and acquisitions, sales and marketing or investment banking
  • International market experience, ideally in biopharmaceutical or adjacent markets
  • Experience in bio-informatics / data management, sales skills are desirable
  • Legal and intellectual property knowledge is beneficial
  • Excellent project management skills and experience in supporting change management processes
  • Strong presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, to enforce and to perform according to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work and travel globally with multicultural sensibility
  • Excellent English skills, German beneficial
