A leading gaming company in Singapore is seeking a Business Development Manager to manage brand partnerships and collaborate on exciting projects to enhance player experiences. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing brand partnerships and collaboration opportunities. This includes driving external collaborations, content rights agreements, and cross-brand activations that enrich the player experience and strengthen MapleStorySEA’s presence in Southeast Asia under PlayPark.
You will be at the forefront of bringing exciting collaborations and brand experiences into MapleStorySEA, delighting players and shaping how we connect with broader entertainment culture. Key Responsibilities
1. Partnerships & Collaborations:
Identify and pursue collaboration opportunities with regional and international brands, agencies, and content owners.
Negotiate commercial terms, usage rights, and renewals with external partners.
Manage approvals and compliance with brand guidelines and partner requirements.
Ensure timely delivery of collaboration content, assets, and approvals to internal teams.
2. Partner & Stakeholder Management:
Maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, licensors, and agencies.
Act as the primary liaison during negotiations and project execution.
Work closely with internal teams (product, marketing, creative, legal, finance) to align collaboration terms with execution capabilities.
3. Project Execution:
Drive cross-functional collaboration to launch campaigns, in-game events, and merchandise featuring external brand tie-ins.
Monitor project progress, approvals, and timelines to ensure smooth execution.
Track performance of collaborations and prepare post-mortem reports with ROI analysis.
4. Strategy & Ad Hoc Tasks:
Develop negotiation frameworks and best practices for external collaborations.
Mentor junior BD staff and provide leadership in partner-facing engagements.
Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Project Director, in line with business needs and priorities.
Job Requirements
Must-Have Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Prior experience in brand partnerships, licensing, merchandising or entertainment collaborations.
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Proven ability to handle contracts, timelines, and approvals with attention to detail.
Passion for gaming, entertainment, or pop culture collaborations.
Self-driven, persistent, and results-oriented.
Culturally adaptable when dealing with overseas partners.
Strong problem-solving skills, with resilience in complex negotiations.
Ability to balance creativity with commercial discipline.
Comfortable with both detailed execution and high-level partner engagement.
Nice-to-Have:
Proficiency in Korean, Mandarin, and other SEA languages (to handle cross-regional communications and to liaise directly with overseas partners)
Existing industry network with licensors, IP holders, or agencies.
