Job description

Our client is a global logistics and supply chain solutions provider with operational footprint in over 100 countries. They operates through a portfolio of specialist brands, offering expertise in road freight, air & ocean shipping, warehousing, and fulfillment.

The ideal candidate will be the Business Development vertical lead responsible for the acquisition and growth of Oil & Energy/ Marine or Aerospace or Automotive customers, and generating new business for the company. Leveraging prior technical or sales related experience, the primary function of this role is to proactively identify, hunt and secure new business clients, building relationships, and closing deals to achieve revenue targets. This position demands strong negotiation skills, a proven sales track record within the Oil & energy / marine logistics or Aerospace or Automotive or freight forwarding industry, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on achieving measurable results.

The Challenges

  • Proactively identify potential clients and untapped partnership opportunities.
  • Hunt, win and generate business leads through networking, cold calling and leveraging CRM tools.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics to win new business, retain existing business and help the company expand.
  • Design, develop and implement solutions, addressing the logistics needs of potential and existing clients.
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFQ/tender/bid responses.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals that align with company objectives.
  • Lead KPI delivery and period service reviews with clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service/solution implementation and service delivery.
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities.

What It Takes

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years' prior industry experience preferably related to Oil & Energy / Marine or Aerospace or Automotive Logistics and Supply Chain sector.
  • Large contact base of Oil & Energy / Marine or Aerospace or Automotive related clients, shippers, consignees or suppliers.
  • Knowledge of logistics and freight solutions related to the Oil & Energy / Marine or Aerospace or Automotive industry.
  • Track record in business development and solution crafting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, independent, able to multi-task and work in a matrix-reporting environment.
  • Pragmatic, focused and goal-oriented.
  • Possess a high level of integrity and a good team player.
