Job Summary / Purpose:

  • Drive entrepreneurial business growth by launching new product lines and entering complex markets, turning opportunities into premium, scalable revenue streams
  • Lead disruptive business development through innovative market strategies, positioning commodity products for high-value clients in competitive environments
  • Lead upstream value-chain optimisation through deep expertise in China’s supply networks, manufacturing ecosystems, and logistics partnerships, securing competitive advantage and scalable growth
  • Combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to drive premium positioning of commoditised products through strong value propositions focused on client’s needs, quality, hygiene, safety, sustainability, and customisation
  • Expert in China upstream value-chain optimisation, leveraging in-depth knowledge of manufacturing ecosystems, supplier networks, and logistics partnerships to drive cost efficiency, supply resilience, and competitive advantage
  • Launching new product lines and markets, including CAPEX planning for new equipment and production capacity
  • Direct experience evaluating, justifying, and managing capital expenditures (CAPEX) for new business ventures, including ROI analysis and breakeven timelines

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Fluent in Mandarin and English and operates effectively to navigate regulatory, cultural, and commercial complexities
  • Entrepreneurial and adaptable, with the ability to operate in ambiguity, test market entry strategies, and pivot quickly based on feedback and results
  • Leads full-cycle business development, from opportunity identification and market analysis to client acquisition, contract negotiation, and deal closure
  • Design and execute go-to-market strategies aligned with growth objectives, overseeing product launches and ensuring commercial readiness in coordination with cross-functional teams
  • Develop pricing strategies, profitability models, and ROI analysis to support scalable revenue generation
  • Builds strategic partnerships with key clients, distributors, suppliers, and industry players to accelerate market penetration and credibility
  • Accountable for achieving revenue and margin targets for new business lines, while managing market development budgets and reporting on KPIs to Senior Management

Financial / Budget Management:

  • Oversee budgeting, revenue projections, and ROI analysis for new business initiatives
  • Manage client acquisition costs, travel, and business development expenditures

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years minimum in business development (specifically in new market entry or product launches)
  • 2–3 years in strategic roles (e.g., managing CAPEX, P&L, or cross-functional teams)
  • Proven track record of scaling ventures
  • Creates new business lines (products, equipment, markets)
  • To manage on boarding of new account and commercialisation of account
